TikTok’s New Addition to the Creator Portal

TikTok's New Addition to the Creator Portal

Recently, TikTok announced plans for a Talent Manager Portal for TikTok creators. While it is still in alpha testing, some have tried this new feature in the Creator Marketplace.

With the introduction of this new feature, creators will be able to authorize their managers to log in and manage their brand deals, negotiate pay, and give stats on the performance of videos from the creator.

It is important to note that managers cannot access the creator’s accounts. They will have access to the Creator Marketplace account, but they won’t have any power to upload or create content.

Since its start in 2016, TikTok’s user base has skyrocketed. As of 2023, TikTok currently has over 1 billion active monthly users. The app has been so popular that it only made sense that the creator market would thrive.

With hundreds of thousands of content creators using the platform, the partnership opportunities continue to grow. TikTok saw the growth potential, and in 2019, The TikTok Creator Marketplace (TCM) was developed to make partnerships between brands and creators more accessible.

In addition to landing deals, the TCM helps gain insights into creator performance. On the TCM, creators don’t need a manager on the account. Influencers can gain valuable insights into their demographic, performance, and land deals.

Through the TCM, brands can find creators that match their desired branding. Brands can reach out directly or open an application and vet creators.

Adding the Talent Manager Portal is another move in prioritizing the creator economy on social media. From the conception of the TCM soon after TikTok’s launch to improvements to the platform, it is evident that TikTok prioritizes improving the creator market.

While these tools can help massively, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. If you’re a creator or a brand interested in learning more about influencer marketing, contact our Brand Partnerships Team at brandpartnerships@influencelogic.com.
